Rules For Social Media Interaction
- You must have a purpose, something thought out; of course it might not be a purpose for everyone but as long as you have an objective.
- Do not sell; if you are going to sell; sell by not selling
- Social media marketing takes time, if you think you or your company can spend 10 minutes per week on social media; that is not reality, so hire me if all you have is 10 minutes
- Understand the in’s and out’s of each specific social media tool you are using; each one is different…for example…facebook and twitter are completely different and the audience is different too
- Understand your own marketing strategy; figure out how to mix it in to each social media tool, if your business is hip than be hip, but if you are traditional don’t try and be modern online…just be yourself
- If you hire someone for social media please make sure they represent your beliefs and not their own
- Establish a set of rules and guidelines for all your employees touching the social media
- Keep up to date with all the changes as new social media tools are introduced constantly…everyone wants to be the next fb or twitter
- Pay attention to your analytics and see what social media tools are working for you, and increase the usage of that tool…cause it works for you
- Don’t over react if people criticize your company or write negative comments, it’s how people feel…just go with it…
- Have fun with social media…
- ONLINE MARKETING IS ONLY A TOOL…NOT TO REPLACE TRADITIONAL MARKETING
